This morning we went to the dentist for the girls. By the time we got home we were ready for lunch. We only spent a couple hours this afternoon in the "classroom" doing formal school. I gave them their spelling list and had them read their words for me. I gave Luke fourth grade level spelling words to see how he does. If they are too difficult for him, I'll go back to giving him third grade level next week. We played Charades together for Imagination Station. Isabel had really been wanting to and I often forget that she needs a LOT more fun games, crafts, et cetera. Luke wanted to make "his own world" on paper, so I told them about maps and map keys. I thought Isabel would think it was interesting too, but she got bored and went to coloring. Luke and I created maps of our own imaginary countries adding a map key and population. We then took a break and played outside for a while. Then we did Math. I had Luke playing or doing something on the computer while I spent one-on-one math time with Isabel, then switched.

We didn't get as much accomplished as I would have liked, BUT, being positive about it all, we got a LOT accomplished considering Luke and Isabel were both kind of grouchy and I feel that I am never as efficient in the afternoon as I am in the morning.

Luke is reading Diary of a Wimpy Kid, which he got at Borders last Friday. He is on page 88. I strongly recommend this book to anyone who has boys. It is a really fun book.

We also recently found a cool science site that Luke has been using: Bill Nye, the Science Guy

We finished reading The Chocolate Touch tonight.
