Isabel is Ten

Isabel and Lindsay made this sign, "Par-tay this way."

Oh no, the guests are one minute late!

Isabel chose to have Jarritos (hecho en Mexico) and finger foods at her party.

Aunt Natalie made the Happy Birthday banner.  The thimble and spools banner I bought on etsy.com

The girls helped.

Waiting to get their initials ironed on.

Sewing!

I actually just pretended that I knew what I was doing, thank goodness Lynn Perrello was there to help.  The girls did great and were very creative.

That day, Lindsay lost a tooth while at the party, later Isabel lost a tooth and after that, Sylvia lost her first tooth!  You better believe Hazel was trying to wiggle her teeth :(  Sometimes the tooth fairy brings pink snowballs from the gas station.

Sylvia is Five!

For Sylvia's birthday, grandma and grandpa Oldham came! Sylvia thinks that grandpa calls her "Upsidaisy" since that is what he says when he helps her up into his van.

Sylvia had Indi and Josey over for some freeze dance, hot potato and thimble.  And for some cake!

After the party Sylvia wanted to stick her face in some flour.

It made me realize that I should have made her whole birthday be about what she loves.  Making messes.  (I would say, 'oh well maybe next year' but I am hoping that next year will be the year she decides making messes isn't that much fun.)

Yesterday morning, she thought that she should be taller and was happy that her swim suit still fit her.  Also, I asked, "How does it feel to be five?!"  She responded, "Not so good, my head hurts."Joey and I are constantly saying how boring our lives would be without our crazy, loving and fun Sylvia.

Birthday Invitations for a "Friend Party"

Every other year I let my children have their birthday party with friends.  My reasoning for this is simple; it is so much work trying to make a fun party for my own child, let alone a bunch of other people's, every other year gives me a little break.  Needless to say, this year is a "friend party" and I had Sylvia design her own birthday invitations... "daddy with a beard, mama, and baby Sylvia."

In April, I had Isabel design her own birthday invitations too...
